It had to happen eventually, a few people told me. It’s about time, said others. None of it, not one single word, was going to wipe the smile off of my face today. Because last night, when I opened up the piece of mail that I received from the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, informing me that I had passed my fourth and final section of the CPA Exam, the smile crept up, stuck, and hasn’t left since. After a wrapping up a few loose ends, signing some standard paperwork, and paying some nominal fees, I’ll go from just ‘Accountant’ to ‘Certified Public Accountant’. Ah, my life’s ambition. Really though, nothing will change. Except of course the two extra words behind my name. And new business cards. And oh yeah, the many, many, many more chicks. You haven’t heard? Chicks dig CPA’s.

I’m glad to hear that you passed. I will be sure to buy you a shot of tequilla at the Alabama game.
Way to go!! I’m so happy for you. It will be years before all my tests are over.
